Whether for routine or emergency purposes, the ability to communicate effectively with coast stations and other vessels is vitally important for the safe operation of vessels of all sizes and whether they are on the high seas or in inland waters.

Created in partnership with the Marine Society, this module takes you through the principles, components and carriage requirements under the GMDSS system and explains the set-up, operation and maintenance of fixed and portable equipment. It also covers how to send, receive and act upon distress messages and other message types.

The price given here (£20) is for one month but there are discounts available for longer terms and for Cadets. Two months is £35 and three is £50. Cadets are offered a further discount, so one month is £10, two is £15 and three is £20.
